Jacob Lacharity

Jacob Lacharity was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and obtained his undergraduate degree in chemistry from the University of Western Ontario. His interest in organic synthesis was sparked by an opportunity to perform research in the lab of Professor Mike Kerr. After graduation, Jacob moved to UC Santa Barbara to perform graduate studies with Professor Armen Zakarian. His PhD work focused on the development of methods for the asymmetric formation of carbon-carbon bonds and their application in natural product total synthesis. After postdoctoral studies at Stanford, Jacob joined the Discovery Chemistry team at Incyte in March of 2022, where he is currently a Senior Research Investigator developing small molecule therapeutics in oncology.
